I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

14 years later, here we are. Back at it again.

We don’t really seem to fix our problems, we just replace them with new ones and the old ones lose significance and importance. Everything has changed since Opticynicism, yet nothing has. Women problems, money problems, employment problems, mental problems.

All the same old bullshit with a new paint job.

No, I’ve changed everything. Probably 10 times and I still haven’t found the answers I’ve been looking for.

Yeah, that’s right. 14 years. And some of you are people I met as a result of that blog, the old Opticynicism.

I learned a LOT back then about getting a blog put together and image editing and I could maneuver around WordPress like I wrote the program.

That is not the case now. WordPress is 14 years newer with all kinds of shit to make my life easier except it’s not the old way so it’s not easier. It also doesn’t help that I can’t walk into a room and not forget what the hell I went in there for.

I was standing by my couch the other day and thought of something I needed to do on my phone, which was in my hand at the time. I took one step, sat down on the couch, looked at the phone and had completely forgotten what it was I wanted to do.

I still don’t know.

Anyway, this being the first post and me just getting started relearning wordpress and Gimp photo editor because it’s free and Photoshop is most definitely not, it may not stay the first post, but I’m just putting it out there so you guys can see I’m actually here.

Also, if there are typos, forgive me. After a recent car accident (I’ll get into that in another post) I learned I have something called Cubital Tunnel Syndrome. Not Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which I already have that makes my thumb, pointer and middle finger tingly and numb when I overuse it. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, get this, is where the ring and pinky finger get tingly and numb. I didn’t even know that was a fucking thing, but it is and in this case, it’s all the time, so typing has become a matter of luck with any letters or keys that need to be hit with those two fingers.

At any rate, I’ve got a Digiorno getting cold and I need to work on figuring this out some more, but I wanted to let you know I’m back.

We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll become a part of it.

See you soon!

-Eric

  1. And the god of WP became wroth at those who took his user-friendly format for granted and raged, “All right then… let me curse you with Hemingway! Because its not enough to write a post and connect with friends. This new form will let you make build new websites.”

And the people looked up and said, “God! Dude! WTF!! All we want to do is write blogposts.”

    Hey, Eric ‘sup?

    1. They do seem to have made it a nightmare to navigate, and the additional constrictions of have a free WP site makes it even more difficult when pressing buttons that I know what they do and getting slapped on the hand by WP with a “You can only touch that if you pay us!” scolding. It is good to be back on the keyboard, even though the keys on the right side are tough to find.

      Thanks for stopping in Clark!
